Different world leaders, a robust economy or a happy family is not going to reverse the tide of growing sense of lack and personal identity crisis that has gripped our nation.
What the world needs is to open their eyes to the truth and their personal truth. Blaming is not the solution either. Trying to pin your problems on someone or something outside of yourself only serves to diminish your personal truth, the truth and your personal power.
If you think that by winning the lottery, owning a new home or having a different president will make all your problems go away, than you are lying to yourself. You are pointing the finger in the wrong direction. The solution begins with you.
The reason we are in the situation we are in with wide-spread corruption, apathy, atheism, idolatry, and dissidence is because people are not taking responsibility for their role. They are not feeling a sense of obligation and purpose to make a positive contribution to society and others.
I have a colleague who, by the world’s standards, lives a very comfortable life. He owns not one but three homes and has nice rental income. His primary residence is worth several millions of dollars. Despite all of this, he can’t stop spending money and racking up credit card debt and maxing out equity lines. He did this well before inflation kicked in. Does he need another car or ridiculously expensive shoes? Did he need to build the ADU? He blames the government for his spending habits and the fact that he has seven credit cards and that they are maxed out. He calls up a law firm to play hardball with his creditors to reduce his debt. Why not. There are numerous commercials on television trying to convince you it is not your fault for being in debt let alone your choices in general. This mindset of blaming others for the situation we find ourselves in has become an epidemic. It is ‘the reason’ we are where we are at in life. In our personal and professional lives.
People all across the globe are living in a vacuum of falseness. As a result, their reality is tainted and distorted. What they are believing are lies about themselves and others.
We can’t teach the younger generation how to get in the battle for the truth and excel to greatness if we are behaving like poor slobs saying, ‘poor me’
The reason many people are irresponsible, selfish and lack personal responsibility isn’t just because they are lazy, or lack self-control. I believe they don’t have a higher purpose that motivates them to be impactful. Dr. David Jeremiah, a biblical scholar and pastor in Southern California has said, “When you have a purpose, it eliminates a multitude of decisions that might present themselves. Anything that conflicts with one’s purpose in life is not even considered — or shouldn’t be.”
Figure out your purpose and how you can make a difference; how you can turn the tide. Together we can do this if we get in the battle for the truth.
It’s time to break from the pact. How do you do this?
- Know what is the truth before you speak. Too many people are repeating what they hear on television or from someone at work – distortions and lies. Don’t be lazy and buy into things you hear hook, line and sinker. Take a dive into the annals of history. Do your research. Do not simply parrot what someone else said. That is being irresponsible and can even be detrimental. There are a lot of false prophets, false teachers and bad information floating around.
- Pray daily for God to ignite your spiritual gifts and abilities so you can be a steward of the gospel of Jesus Christ and bring light to a fallen and dying world. (Acts 13:1-4; Eph 3:16)
- Pray for all light beings to rise up, hold hands and circle the earth. Let’s us warm the earth with our healing light — layer after layer. Let the dark spots be illuminated. Let the truth surface. Let us pray for those who are expressing their pain and shame in hateful ways be healed.
- Speak words of empowerment and encouragement, not fear. Silence, apathy and inaction are far worse crimes against humanity then action. But first do your research.
- Process your emotions before you speak. Once you have control over your emotions and are in command of your senses, your rebuke and exhortation will have a lot more power than pure emotion. That is because if you are coming from a righteous place, anger will be channeled properly.
- Be proud to be a Christian.
- Spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Pray to God for wisdom and deliverance from the enemy!
- Announce your goals!
- Motivate the people around you!
- Come up with a plan!
- Be fully alive and present!
- Practice forgiveness and let go of your past.
- Think about what you want to be remembered for and focus on that.
- Testify that the hand of God and His favor is behind your project.
